3 hour workshop | $95.00
With Anne Choi of Middle Brook Fireworks
Thursday 09/03 5:00 - 8:00 pm
Discover an expressive, process-oriented approach to tapestry weaving while learning traditional handweaving techniques. Working on a standing tabletop loom, you'll explore how to combine a variety of beautiful fibers—including fluffy roving, long wool locks, silk ribbon, handspun art yarn, and more—to create a piece that is entirely your own. Along the way, we'll experiment with different weave structures and knotting techniques to build texture, create geometric shapes, and add sculptural dimension.
By the end of class, you'll complete a one-of-a-kind mini sampler tapestry to take home. All tools, equipment, and materials are included, featuring handspun yarn, hand-dyed roving, wool and mohair locks, eco-printed silk and wool gauze ribbon, linen paper yarn, and other specialty fibers. You're also welcome to bring any favorite yarns or fibers you'd like to incorporate into your piece. Tabletop looms will be available for purchase after class for anyone who would like to continue weaving at home.
