Join Sophie Kuperman of Sophie Rose Fiber Works for an exploration of color and technique through fractal spinning.
Discover how dividing and preparing a hand-dyed fiber braid in different ways can create beautifully varied color transitions in your finished yarn. With an emphasis on fiber preparation and color theory, Sophie will demonstrate how thoughtful preparation can influence the way colors interact when spun and plied.
Each participant will receive a braid of Sophie's hand-dyed wool fiber to explore the technique and continue spinning at home. If time allows, participants will begin spinning their prepared fiber during the workshop.
Previous spinning experience is recommended. Participants must bring their own spinning wheels.
Come early to browse Sophie's trunk show, featuring her hand-dyed fiber braids and a small selection of handspun yarns, then stay for the workshop!
